In northern Moldavia, a group of Orthodox monasteries has its exterior walls entirely covered with frescoes over five centuries old — a UNESCO treasure unique in the world. The route starts from Suceava and links Voroneț, Moldovița, Sucevița and Humor, with the gentle villages and hills of Bucovina in between. It's a circuit about faith, colour and hospitality.

Day 1 — Suceava
The Princely Fortress of Moldavia, the Bucovina Museum and the monastery of St John the New. Night in Suceava.

The "Sistine Chapel of the East" — Voroneț, with its famous blue, then Humor. Base in Gura Humorului.

Day 3 — Moldovița & Sucevița
The best-preserved exterior frescoes, in hilly landscapes. Painted-egg and pottery workshops along the way.

Day 4 — Rarău & return
Mount Rarău and the Pietrele Doamnei for a farewell view, then the drive back via Vatra Dornei.
