Cazinoul Slănic-Moldova

The Casino of Slănic-Moldova is one of the architectural symbols of this spa resort in Bacău county, set in a forested valley of the Eastern Carpathians and renowned since the nineteenth century for its mineral water springs. Built in the eclectic style characteristic of the period, the casino evokes the atmosphere of the European resorts of old, when Slănic-Moldova was frequented by the aristocracy and bourgeoisie of the day and its waters were compared to those of celebrated foreign spas. The elegant facades, the decoration and the distinguished massing of the building recall the golden age of spa cures.
Around the casino spreads the resort park, with shaded avenues, captured springs and period buildings forming a listed ensemble. The clean air, the surrounding forests and the tradition of mineral water treatments make Slănic-Moldova a pleasant destination for rest and strolls, and the casino remains the central landmark of the promenade.
