Strada Sforii

Rope Street in Brașov is considered one of the narrowest streets in Europe, with a width varying between roughly 1. 1 and 1. 3 metres.
Located in the historic centre of the city, it connects Cerbului Street with Poarta Schei Street and was originally an access corridor used by firefighters in medieval times. Today this picturesque lane has become one of the most photographed attractions in Brașov, a place where visitors stop to admire the old walls and leave messages on them. Despite its modest dimensions, Rope Street captures the special charm of Brașov's medieval centre, with its atmosphere of an old Transylvanian town.
Its position in the heart of the city makes it easy to include in a walking tour, alongside the Black Church, the Council Square and the other nearby attractions. It is an amusing and memorable stop for tourists exploring Brașov who wish to discover an urban curiosity with a surprising history.
