Muzeul Satului Vâlcean Bujoreni

The Vâlcea Village Museum at Bujoreni, near Râmnicu Vâlcea, is an open-air museum that recreates the atmosphere of a traditional village in the sub-Carpathian region of Oltenia. Across a broad site, peasant farmsteads, a small wooden church, an old school, an inn, a town hall and numerous folk technical installations such as mills and presses have been reconstructed, all brought from Vâlcea villages and carefully assembled to preserve their authenticity. Visitors stroll among the shingle-roofed houses, admiring the carved gates, the traditionally furnished interiors and the everyday objects that illustrate life in times past.
The museum often hosts events and craft demonstrations, offering a living experience of rural culture. The natural setting, with hills and orchards all around, adds to the charm of the place. Located near the town and the road to Cozia Monastery, the museum is an ideal destination for families and for anyone interested in the traditions and folk architecture of Oltenia.
