Grădina Zoologică Sibiu

The Sibiu Zoo, one of the oldest in Romania, is a green oasis set on the shore of the lake in the Dumbrava Forest, on the edge of the city. Laid out as far back as the interwar period, the garden stretches among old trees and offers a pleasant setting, more natural than that of many urban zoos. Visitors can see a variety of species, from large mammals and monkeys to exotic birds and farm animals, with an emphasis on education and conservation. Neighbouring the open-air ASTRA Museum and the recreational forest, the area lends itself perfectly to a family day: a walk, play and contact with nature.
Shaded paths make the visit pleasant even in summer. It is a destination loved by children and locals. Check the visiting schedule, which varies with the season, and any special activities.
