Grădina Morii Sighet

The Mill Garden in Sighetu Marmației is a pleasant park laid out on an island formed by the branches of the Iza River, near the centre of the town in northern Maramureș. The name comes from the old mill that once operated here, using the power of the water. Today the garden is a recreation space loved by locals, with shaded paths, bridges over the river branches, play areas, and picnic spots. The greenery and the waters surrounding the island create a cool, quiet atmosphere, suited to walks in any season.

The park lies near important sights of Sighet, such as the memorial museum in the former communist prison and the Maramureș village museum, so it can easily be included in a tour of the town. Visitors can take a relaxing break between cultural visits. It is worth combining the walk with discovering the other nearby sights.
