Cota 2000 Sinaia

Cota 2000 is the highest developed tourist point in the Sinaia area, in the Bucegi Mountains, near the peaks that dominate the Prahova valley, in Muntenia. The name indicates the altitude of about two thousand metres reached by the cable car that climbs from the resort, offering spectacular views during the ascent. From here, wide panoramas open toward the Bucegi ridge, the Prahova valley and the surrounding mountains, and in the cold season the area becomes a starting point for the ski slopes.
In summer, Cota 2000 is an excellent departure point for hikes on the Bucegi plateau, toward renowned natural landmarks such as the rock formations shaped by wind and weather. The clean high-altitude air and the mountain scenery attract visitors in all seasons. Practical note: even in summer, temperatures at this altitude are low and the weather changes quickly, so warm clothing is needed, and hikes on the plateau call for suitable footwear and a check of the forecast.
