Cascada Șipote

The Sipote Waterfall lies in the heart of Piatra Craiului National Park, near Zarnesti, in a mountain setting of exceptional beauty, at the edge of a zone of spectacular limestone ridges. The waterfall, fed by mountain springs, descends the slope among rocks and rich vegetation, offering a cool and quiet corner, ideal for a rest during hikes in the massif. Nearby stands a chalet of the same name, a starting or resting point for tourists exploring the trails of Piatra Craiului.
The area is renowned for its alpine landscapes, its rich flora and the chance to observe the wildlife of the national park. The setting blends coniferous forest with meadows and the view of the steep ridges. Practical note: access is by mountain paths, so proper footwear and a little fitness are needed; the waterfall can be combined with routes towards the Curmatura Chalet and the nearby ridges.
