Vrancea — Odobești & Panciu

The country's largest wine basin

At the foot of the Curvature Carpathians, the Odobești, Panciu and Cotești vineyards of Vrancea county form Romania's largest wine basin — the quantitative heart of Romanian wine. For centuries this has been the home of Galbenă de Odobești, a light and friendly white, and Băbească Neagră, Moldavia's everyday red.

Panciu is also known for traditional-method sparkling wines made in deep-dug cellars. It's an authentic, agricultural region where wine is part of the rhythm of life — right for those who want to see wine made at scale, without fuss.
