Slatina

A town on the Olt, between the sub-Carpathian hills and the southern plain.

Set on the bank of the Olt river, Slatina is the seat of Olt county and a threshold town between the sub-Carpathian hills and the sweep of the southern plain. The place keeps the quiet air of a valley market town, where the rhythm of the days still seems tied to the water flowing slowly nearby and to the squares where locals meet.

At the heart of town, the Ionașcu church, one of the oldest foundations of the settlement, watches over urban life, while the Youth Park offers greenery and shaded alleys for unhurried walks. Slatina remains a discreet stop along the Olt valley, a landmark for those crossing Oltenia from the mountains toward the Danube.
